Antonio off with Jamaica
Just reading that our one and only striker who looks already completely fucked and whose form is dropping faster than our league position is off to play for Jamaica next week.... 3 World Cup qualifiers in 6 days on top of the travel. At the very least he’s going to come back even more knackered which for a player who relies on workrate , pace and energy rather than skills or technical ability isn’t good. Or else he’s gonna come back injured. Wouldn’t it be typical West Ham ? Up till a few weeks ago we were having , potentially, one of our best seasons for years , decades even. The people in charge have fallen asleep at the wheel .... how can we get to the position with a week left of the transfer window where our one and only out and out striker is being allowed to disappear to the Caribbean to play 3 matches in 6 days ? Jamaica don’t even pay his wages but an injury picked up out there could potentially cost the club millions at the end of the season ...as well as saying goodbye to Rice if we don’t want to be in the European contention. This is a fucking joke.... no striker signed yet for the third window in a row. It makes the sale of Haller ( for less money that we paid for Vlasic who came in after ) look even more like a huge mistake... not that he was fantastic for us but at least he was a proper proven striker.

What nonsense.

Almost all on here recognise that Antonio is a rapid player that lacks touch and is only a back up CF really.

On the wing he may well get the space to make better use of his speed and power rather being man marked out of the game by equally rugged CB's.

It's only our ridiculous manager that sees him as a CF and didn't even want back up for him..

Great work on this thread Huffers, completely spot on about Antonio. Seeing so many fans rate him depresses me. I always thought of our fan base as pretty knowledgeable, it’s opinions like so many have on him that make me doubt.

It’s good to see some aren’t fooled by the second touch is a tackle twonk

That's twice you've bumped this now.

You are a very sad needy cunt.

Is that the response you were hoping for?

Have the vast majority caught up yet? Some of the replies calling me an idiot because I said he was not a good footballer are rather funny.

Re: Antonio off with Jamaica
Hard to disagree with any of that, has overall been a great signing. Had a incredible purple patch. Moyes gambled on that being sustained with no back up plan.. Fucking negligence.. Then signs a player who doesn't play like Antonio but still plays the same way.

Re: Antonio off with Jamaica
I highly doubt anyone would disagree that he has overall been a great signing and servant for us at circa 7 mil, and history will serve him well. Not quite legend status, but he will be remembered very fondly for sure.

On his day he was a very effective player at this level, and even earlier this season he put in some good shifts, one home game he come on at ht and totally changed the result. But yes sadly he is done for now, both physically and mentally, and I think he knows it, and once again we are stuck with a player that isn't going to be much use to us now after giving him a too lengthy contact, we never seem to learn. Maybe we can move him on for a decent fee at some point soon.

Good to see the term”inside right” being used on here.

Re: Antonio off with Jamaica
Any other team would have used Antonio as an inside right or right winger and he would be one of the best in the league. Completely wasted most of his career by using him in the wrong position. Shame, he's a great lad.

Totally agree Rios he's been a decent player for us and scored some cracking/important goals ! I think many on here forget that and he certainly doesn't deserve the slagging off he's getting.

Too muscular and the way he's been flogged by Moyes said it all.i suspect we will be looking to reach an agreement to terminate his deal at the season .

Re: Antonio off with Jamaica
As soon as Antonio signed that deal . I told my mate the club had fucked up.. he disagreed . He simply doesn't have the body shape for a player to survive at the top level until 35.

Simon, yeah like our Manager the spastic who told everyone it’s pretty hard to get better than Antonio as if he was the second coming of Ronaldo. A purple patch from the restart which included 4 goals against one of the worse teams in premiership history and he thought he was a natural born goal scorer. Never ever been a centre forward in a month of sundays.

rios, they lad has done well for the club, but one of the best wingers in the league? Blimey. He might possibly be one of the worst technically in the league.

Somebody told Antonio he was a striker and he believed it, that’s the problem.

Re: Antonio off with Jamaica
Unfortunately Moyes sets the team up and plans like he's still in that purple patch and we are still able to counter at pace. However that is not the case and when he thinks he can substitute Scammaca for him and he fails to deliver Scammaca looks like a useless donkey... which he isn't!

Re: Antonio off with Jamaica
Giving the worst technical footballer in the Premier league a 3 year £100k contract was another stunning bit of business by the club.

He’s a winger never a striker and now only should be off the bench but his ego can’t take that.

He is absolutely gone physically and mentally.

That air shot on Friday summed it up, the stadium wasn’t even shocked, everyone just laughed.

Re: Antonio off with Jamaica
Said the same thing Huffers fella... even when he had his purple patch a few years back... never has been and never will be a centre forward... yeah can be effective on his day.... but fuck me he is never a CF

They are awful, league 2 or National league. He should do well for them.
